If you are one who fears the dental office, dentist, and every dental tool, we are here to help you with nitrous oxide! Nitrous oxide is a beneficial and successful sedative that finally relieves your dental fears and anxiety, and we are delighted to help you feel more comfortable in the dental chair with the use of this sedative.

Nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, is a sedative combined with oxygen and is inhaled through the nose. At the office, your dentist will place a small mask over your nose and will ask you to deeply inhale for a few minutes. As the time passes by, you will begin to feel the effects of the laughing gas and you will finally feel comfortable in the hands of the dentist.

As you breathe the sedative through your nose, you will feel a bit light headed and your arms and legs will feel tingly or heavy. Nitrous oxide will not make you sleep, and you will be able to understand the dentist as well as respond or ask questions whenever you need to. You will still comprehend everything that is going on—you will just feel more calm and comfortable in the dental chair. Once your treatment is completed, the mask will be removed and the effects will wear off just in time for you to drive yourself home.

If you have any questions about laughing gas or if you would like to know more, call our office today and talk to a member of our friendly dental team. We are here to help you have the best dental experience possible!
