Invisalign is a brand of clear plastic aligners used by many adults with minor alignment issues to gain the smooth and even smile they’ve always wanted. Since the aligner trays are made from a clear durable plastic material, they are nearly invisible to the casual observer.

The initial consultation Dr. Spartak Delakyan will examine your mouth, which might also include taking a few X-rays. This helps define your alignment goals and the number of aligners needed to adjust your teeth into their ideal alignment.

Next, they with take an impression of your teeth, which will be sent to the Invisalign laboratory that produces your custom aligner trays.

To achieve your ideal smile in the shortest amount of time you will need to wear Invisalign 20 to 22 hours a day. Each set of aligner trays are designed to gradually stretch the periodontal ligaments anchoring each tooth towards the final alignment.

After two weeks you will switch to another set of aligners that are tuned to be one more step closer to your ideal alignment. The number of aligners needed will vary. Most people meet their alignment goals in three or four sets of aligners

You can drink normally while wearing Invisalign, but you will need to remove the aligners before eating. You should also avoid chewing gum, smoking or using other tobacco products while the aligners are in your mouth.

You will need to maintain your oral hygiene while you are using Invisalign. You should also rinse the aligners each day with an antiseptic mouthwash to refresh them and remove plaque and food particles.
